Let's give our spaces the importance they deserve.

Buildings have become a fundamental part of our daily life and well-being. We spend most of our lives in some kind of building, whether in our homes or in our workspace, because of this, it is our duty to ensure the best interior conditions not only for our health but also for our comfort and productivity.

Ventilation in indoor spaces is a measure that should be taken into account to avoid problems for your health. In addition, it has become a safety measure in the midst of the health emergency caused by covid-19 and its new variant omicron.

Indoor air renewal is highly recommended and necessary if you are looking for comfort and wellbeing inside a building, it is also very important to dry humidity and control the temperature of a space.

We must keep in mind that we spend most of our time inside a building, whether at work, as a student or in our homes, those hours will define your health, comfort and well-being.

In labor environments, Law 9 of 1979, in Colombia, establishes that ventilation is required in indoor facilities that guarantee the supply of clean and fresh air, in a permanent manner and that is of adequate quantity for the use and number of people in the establishment, following the criteria of the corresponding regulations. It also determines the necessary sanitary services to be provided in the corresponding ventilation systems.

There are many causes of poor ventilation that are not taken into account in the interiors:

  • Dampness generates molds, which are toxic and very harmful to health.

  • Allergens such as dust.

  • Carbon dioxide (CO₂), coming from human respiration and others.

  • Waste, which not only emits bad odors, but also pollutes our air.

  • Smoke from cigarettes, when smoking indoors or in enclosed spaces.

  • Volatile organic compounds, which are generated by chemicals such as disinfectants, pesticides, cosmetics, air fresheners and even vinyl flooring.

  • This is as common as the formation of germs and bacteria in the environment.

  • Interior surfaces that are often covered with textile materials, including floors, walls or other elements that are part of the interior design, which obstruct air flow or air renewal due to the absence or difficulty of availability of windows.

  • Construction materials such as walls or floors when these are not of good quality and usually generate humidity.

Having said this, we can understand and give the required importance to ventilation and air renewal that our spaces require for our comfort and well-being.
